LabMedical Clinical Laboratory is committed to ensuring digital and physical accessibility for all individuals, including those with disabilities. We continually improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

All three of our laboratory locations have been designed with accessibility in mind:

  • Designated accessible parking spaces close to building entrances, with appropriate signage
  • Step-free pathways from parking to lobby and throughout the facility
  • Curb cuts and ramps where needed

Interior Spaces

  • Wide doorways (minimum 32 inches) to accommodate wheelchairs and mobility devices
  • Accessible restrooms with grab bars and adequate turning space
  • Wheelchair-accessible waiting areas with appropriate seating
  • Accessible specimen collection rooms with adjustable-height chairs
  • Lowered service counters for easier communication and transaction

Signage and Wayfinding

  • High-contrast, large-print signage throughout facilities
  • Braille signage on restroom doors, elevators, and key rooms
  • Pictograms and universal symbols to supplement text
  • Clear pathways free of obstacles

4. Communication Accommodations

We provide several communication accommodations to ensure effective interaction with all patients:

  • Sign language interpreters: Available with advance notice (minimum 48 hours) for ASL and other sign languages
  • Assistive listening devices: Available at all locations for patients with hearing impairments
  • Large-print materials: Test preparation instructions, results summaries, and other documents available in large print upon request
  • Audio formats: Important documents available in audio format for patients with visual impairments
  • Language services: Professional medical interpreters available for non-English speakers at no cost
  • Written communication: Staff trained to communicate in writing for patients who are deaf or hard of hearing
  • Video remote interpretation: Available for immediate language and sign language needs

Our website is designed to be accessible to all users, including those using assistive technologies. We have implemented the following features:

Forms and Interactive Elements

  • Sufficient time limits with options to extend
  • No content that flashes more than three times per second

6. Service Animal Accommodations

Service animals are welcome in all areas of our facilities, including patient waiting areas and specimen collection rooms. We follow the ADA definition of service animals and do not require documentation or ask about the nature of the disability.

7. Mobile Accessibility

Our website is designed responsively to provide an accessible experience on mobile devices, including:

  • Touch targets of at least 44x44 pixels for easy tapping
  • Orientation flexibility (portrait and landscape)
